UPS Computer Backup Battery Facts

Also known as an uninterruptible power supply or UPS (Wikipedia description), a battery backup (or computer desktop battery backup) provides power in emergency situations, specifically from an alternate source that is separate (in times when standard utility power is not available). Your computer will be able to continue running for a short period of time (at minimum) when this primary source of power has been lost.

The Universal UB12220 computer and office backup battery, also known as the 40696, steps up to the plate with its 12 volts and 22 mAh of current. BatteryTex, which sells this UPS SLA (sealed lead acid) battery—not to mention countless others, such as the Universal UB1290 or UB1290F2 (also known as the 40700 or 40800, respectively)—satisfies the aforementioned requirements with its great array of products for times such as these, not to mention protection during power surges, which can damage your computer.

Within the UPS is a battery that “starts up” when a loss of power from the primary source is suddenly detected. The UPS enables computer users in the office or home to save vital data (with support for between five and fifteen minutes) before shutting down and walking away as seamlessly as possible.

The Universal UB12220 (40696), UB1290(40700), and UB1290F2 (40s800) batteries customarily ensure that computers, telecommunications equipment, and data centers (not to mention other electrical equipment) remain intact.
